Ranking (1976 - 2003)
The overall relative abundance of butterflies in each of the 28 years of the BMS (1976-2003) has been used to rank each year. 1981 emerges as the worst butterfly year of the series overall, and 1982 as the best. 2003 comes out as the 10 th best year of the scheme.
